Sheriff Holt has 47 years of Law Enforcement experience. He served 4 years with the USAF Air Police, 6 years as a Tennessee State Trooper, and 21 years at TBI where he retired as Deputy Director. Bill has been with the Robertson County Sheriff's Office for over 16 years, serving the last 9 years as Chief Deputy.
 

Some of the schools Holt has attended include USAF Air Police Technical School, The FBI National Academy, Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy, THP Basic School and TBI Criminal Investigation School. Bill is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He has also attended a broad spectrum of specialized schools covering all facets of Law Enforcement during his 47 year career.
 

Bill Holt is a member and past president of the Tennessee Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates. He is member of the Springfield/Robertson County Chamber of Commerce, and the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce. He is on the Board of Directors for The Robertson County Food Bank, as Treasurer, and the Robertson County United Way. Bill is the coordinator of the Robertson County Coalition, a Charter Member of FOP Lodge 29, a member of the American Legion Post 45, New Chapel Men’s Club, and the Greenbrier Athletic Club.
 

Bill had been married for 33 years to his "one and only sweetheart", Wanda Alley Holt, daughter of former Sheriff Denzil and Jean Alley. Holt has one son, Brandt ,a Daughter-in-law Nancy, Granddaughter Avery and Grandson Paxton. He is a member of Greenbrier First Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon.
